Matchbooks have been around for years. That doesn't mean that they aren't still adorable and VERY useful. I used the Halloween Night DSP and some Smoky Slate Card Stock to create this sweet M&M candy holder. It is super easy to make.
Smoky slate card stock is 3 x 8 1/2 scored on the long side at 3/4 and 4 3/4.
Fold the 3/4 piece up and staple in the middle. Fold the 4 3/4 piece down and tuck into the small flap that you have created with the staple. If you want to hide your staple, take a piece of designer series paper that measures 2 3/4 x 1/2 and adhere it to the bottom flap. You don't need any glue to hold the M&Ms in place. If you tuck them inside the bottom flap, the top flap will hold them in securely.
The other pieces of DSP measure 3 1/2 x 2 3/4 and 3 3/4 x 2 3/4. The larger piece is for the back.
To embellish the book, I used the layering squares framelits dies to cut a square out of whisper white card stock and a scalloped square out of smoky slate. I stamped the skull from Mr. Funny Bones and the sentiment from Cookie Cutter Christmas in smoky slate ink. Popped on one dimensional and stick it to the front and call it done!
If you want to watch the video, you can do that here.
Tomorrow we will be making another candy treat holder, so stay tuned!!!
Until next time...
