Ever have a doily hankering???

Hey y'all! Hope everyone had a great Christmas and a wonderful New Year's Day!! I have been super busy with family time and haven 't really been in my craft room much. But I did play around with the sweet ladybugs from the Love You Lots hostess set and the Jars of Love Stamp set as well. I used an old doily for the background because the new doilies I ordered from the occasions catalog aren't here yet. I had a doily hankering and when you have a doily hankering, you MUST act upon it!!! You know what I mean...

I used my blender pens and the watermelon wonder ink pad to color the sweet friends in the jar. I used the watermelon wonder in stacks paper collection for the background paper. A bit of white ribbon and a sentiment from Rose Wonder and this card was done! Doily hankering satisfied! hahaha.

Countdown to Christmas - Day 21 - Ferrero Rocher Candy Treat Holder

Welcome back y'all! Does everybody on the planet but me love these Ferrero Rocher candies?? I am not a fan of chocolate, so I have never had a desire to try them. But one day, I grabbed some to put in the kids stockings for Christmas. I had an extra one, so I unwrapped it and popped it in my mouth. Lesson learned!!!!! DO NOT toss an entire unknown item into your mouth whole! Lick it, try a tiny bite, at the very least smell it! For the love of all things holy!!!!!! I wanted to lick a cheese grater to get the taste out of my mouth. I debated drinking bleach. In all seriousness, they really weren't for me. My kids adore them, though, so I knew I had to make a holder for them for their stocking stuffer. I saw this one on pinterest (my favorite place in the world) and so I made some.

It was very simple to make. 2 pieces of mint macaron card stock. 1 measuring 2 x 6 and one measuring 2 x 4 1/2. I also used 2 pieces of designer series paper. 1 measuring 4 1/4 x 1 7/8 and 1 measuring 1 7/8 x 1 7/8.

Take your piece of card stock that measures 2 x 6 and score on the 6'' side at 1 1/4, 1 3/4, 3 3/4, and  4 1 /4. You will punch a 1 1/2 hole in the square that was created between the two narrow rectangles. You will also punch a coordinating circle from the center of the 1 7/8 x 1 7/8 square of designer series paper. Adhere the designer series paper to the card stock. Add adhesive to the rectangle end of the card stock and create your base.

Punch one end of the 2 x 4 1/2 piece of card stock with the scalloped tag topper punch. Do the same with the 1 7/8 x 4 1/4 piece of designer series paper and then adhere them together creating a layered look.

Adhere the layered tag to the square base and pop in your candy. I tied a bow around it and used the circles I punched out for a sentiment.

Countdown to Christmas - Day 19 - Treat Box made from Gift Bag Punch Board

Hey y'all!! Did you miss me??? Ha! Lookey here what we are building today!!

These sweet boxes were made with the gift bag punch board and hold 2 ghiradelli mini candies! They have a magnetic closure and are the perfect tiny treat size!!

In my original, I used the presents and pinecones designer series paper, but for the one I made in the video, I used the candy cane lane papers. How appropriate that a candy bag be made from candy paper!!!

To make this box, you will need:

A piece of designer series paper cut to 4 1/2 x 10 and your gift bag punch board. I used some metal rimmed pearls to hide my mini magnet on the front. But you could use a piece of designer series paper too. Just punch a small circle piece. Maybe the big ''eye'' from the owl builder punch would work too. I used the new label punch for my sentiment since I needed something small to fit on the front of the box.

Countdown to Christmas - Day 18 - Take Out Boxes

Welcome welcome welcome!! Thanks for coming by to see what we have in store today.

I grabbed these take out boxes from the clearance section for about $2 and just knew I had to use them for a Christmas project. I saw something like this on pinterest and thought it was ingenious. Cutting off the closure to have an open box was brilliant. And it's such a unique shape. So I followed the instructions and cut off the 4 top pieces and then stapled the corners together. But instead of tucking them in, I popped them out to create the unique shape. If you tie some bows with the stitched edge ribbon, it makes this so adorable!!! I stamped the sentiment from Wonderful year on basic black card stock. I still can't decide whether I like it better in white embossing powder or the real red glitter embossing powder. What do y'all like best?

Countdown to Christmas - Day 16 - Customer Appreciation Gift

Hey y'all!! Thanks for stopping by my blog today!! This is the treat that I have made for my customers that shopped online with me in the month of November.

I am using the lindt lindor chocolate caramel candy bar as the treat inside.

To make this project, you will need a piece of DSP that measures 3 1/8 x 9. On the 3 1/8 side, score at 7/8, and 2 1/2. I simply wrapped the paper around the candy bar and stapled the bottom and top closed.

To make the tag, I used a piece of Crumb Cake that measured 3 3/4 x 2. I punched the top with the tag topper punch and rounded the bottom corners with the project life corner rounder. I stamped the sentiment from the jar of cheer stamp set in versamark ink and embossed it with the real red glitter embossing powder. I just love this stuff!!!

I attached the tag with some real red stitched edge ribbon.

Franks and Beans

Here are some requested pictures of our new baby "Beans". She loves Doug so much more than she does me!! She is always cuddling up to him.

She is a rotten scoundrel. She is always messing with Franks and he gets so frustrated!! But she is so stinkin cute!!

Everyone just pray she allows us to keep the Christmas tree up. Sheesh...

Countdown to Christmas - Bonus project for Mary Kay

Hey y'all! Thanks for stopping by my blog for a countdown to Christmas tutorial. Today's project is a spin off of the Santa wind up box for one of my followers, Mary Kay. She asked for a bigger box that would house her hand made ornaments. So here it is!

In my video, I made the project on the left with the copper foil paper and the butterflies.

To make this box, you will need the following:

12 x 12 cardstock or heavy DSP for the box. Score at 4 inches on each side.

6 x 6 piece of cardstock for the lid. Score at 1 inch on all four sides.

3 7/8 x 11 for the insert. On the 11 side you will score at 3 7/8, 4 7/8, 8 3/4 and 9 3/4.

You will put the box together the same way as the Wind up Santa toy box.

Countdown to Christmas - Day 15 - Santa Wind Up Toy Box

Hey y'all, welcome back!! Today's project is one of those boxes that pop open when you remove the lid. I took the original idea from Sam Hammonds and altered the measurements so it would be big enough for my santa wind up toy.

You will need the following supplies:

Three pieces of card stock that measure:
7 1/2 x 8/ 1/4 (for the box)

4 3/4 x 4 (for the lid)

2 1/4 x 6 1/2 (for the insert)

Several pieces of DSP of your choice. I used presents and pinecones in my project.

4 pieces measuring 3/4 x 2 5/8

2 pieces measuring 3/4 x 1 7/8

3 pieces measuring 2 5/8 x 1 7/8

2 pieces measuring 2 5/8 x 2 5/8


On the insert, score on the 6 1/2 at 1 7/8, 2 7/8, 4 3/4 and 5 3/4

On the lid, score at 1 on all 4 sides

On the box, score on the 8 1/4 at 2 3/4 and 5 1/2

on the 7 1/2 side, score at 2 3/4 and 4 3/4

Countdown to Christmas - Day 14 - Wine Glass Chalkboard Package

My daughter is a wine connoisseur and as soon as I saw these sweet chalkboard clips, I knew I had to get them for her. I found them in the dollar section of my local craft store, but I saw many different types of chalkboard clips at my local Wal-Mart's craft section also!

You can use any chalkboard clip that you like for this project. I placed 2 inside of each celophane bag.

I cut a piece of delightful dijon card stock to 4 x 4 and scored it at 2 and then folded it in half. I then stapled that piece to the top of a celophane bag. If you don't want your staples to show, adhere the DSP after you staple the card stock to the bag. If you want the staples visible, adhere the DSP beforehand.

I cut two pieces of the warmth and cheer DSP to 3 7/8 x 1 7/8. They layered nicely on top of the delightful dijon card stock.

I used the sentiment from the balloon celebration stamp set and stamped it on whisper white. I cut it from the smallest circle of the stitched shapes framelits. I layered a scalloped circle from delightful dijon and a plain circle from cherry cobbler. These were both cut using the layering circles framelits.

The flower is from the blooms and wishes stamp set. I stamped it twice in cherry cobbler ink onto whisper white card stock and fussy cut them both out. I layered one on top of the other to form my "poinsettia" I added a few enamel shapes to the center of the flowers and it was all finished!

Countdown to Christmas - Day 13 - Heck it's a Hexagon!!!

Hey y'all, thanks for joining me for another Christmas project! Today's project is a hexagon box that I saw originally on pinterest. I believe the original designer was stamp with Peg.

I decided to make a few of these to hold oddly shaped Christmas presents. My original was made with the fruit stand DSP for the lid and I stamped the woodgrain background on the cardstock for the base. For my video example, I used early espresso card stock and a piece of DSP from the presents and pinecones pack.

You will need a piece of  12 x 12 card stock. Cut a piece that measures 11 3/4 x 7 3/4 and save the other piece for your top and bottom scallop circles. 

You will also need a piece of DSP that measures 4 x 12. 

Take your card stock and score on the 11 3/4 side at  1 7/8, 3 3/4, 5 5/8, 7 1/2, 9 3/8, and 11 1/4. On the 4 inch side, score at 2 1/2.

You will score your lid on the 4 inch side at 2 1/2. On the 12 inch side, score at 2, 3 7/8, 5 3/4, 7 5/8, 9 1/2 and 11 3/8.

Countdown to Christmas - Day 12 - Beary Merry Christmas

You know I love puns. And when I saw these bear Christmas chocolates, I knew I had to make a sweet package to house them for stocking stuffers.

You will need a piece of card stock that measures 4 1/4 x 3 1/2 and a piece of sturdy window sheet that measures approx. 4 1/4 x 3 1/2 (minus a fraction of an inch on both sides) If you take off a scosch on two sides, it makes it easier to fit the window sheet into the card stock base.

You will want to score at 1/2 on all four sides of the card stock AND the window sheet.

Create 4 tabs on the box and the lid by cutting up the score line of the rectangle and miter into the square. I used glue dots as my adhesive to create the lid and the box base since it is the most inconspicuous.

The sentiment came from the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set and I thought it was perfectly punny!!!

Countdown to Christmas - Day 11 - Post it Note Holder

Hey y'all! Thanks for joining me for another Countdown to Christmas project!! Today we will be making a Post it note holder that would be a good for a teacher or coworker as a small gift.

You will need a piece of card stock that measures 1/4 x 7 3/4 and a piece of DSP that measures 3 1/8 x 3.

Score on the 7 3/4 side at 3 1/8, 3 5/8, 4 1/8  Fold and burnish all of the score lines. Take a pair of snips and cut the center piece twice so that you make a "slot" for the pen. That is very difficult for me to explain in writing, so you may be better off watching the video for that part.

I used the stitched shapes framelits to cut the circle for my gingerbread boy to rest on. I adhered everything flat to the holder because I didn't want anything popping off if someone were to transport this in a purse or a bag. I used tear and tape for my adhesive.

The paper mate pens were purchased at Staples. They are ink joy minis. I'm sure you can find mini pens just about anywhere.

Countdown to Christmas - Day 10 - Faux Washi Tape Card

Hey y'all, thanks for stopping by! TGIF!!! Today we will be making this gorgeous card using a faux washi tape technique.

I saw a card similar to this on Pinterest and the designer used washi tape for the background. I didn't have any festive washi tape at the time, so I decided to make my own using designer series paper. I happened to have a bunch of scraps lying around from previous projects, so I just trimmed them up a bit to make them different widths. You could just cut your paper into thin strips to achieve the same result. Then I die cut the deer from the Santa's Sleigh thinlets from Dazzling Diamond Glimmer Paper. Tie a red bow from some bakers twine and pop him on the card with dimensionals. Very simple.
